The Reminder System

The Reminder gives others peace of mind. It's not uncommon for those taking medication to forget their schedule. The Reminder automatically calls them daily to remind them. The unit can handle up to 128 different daily calls.

How it works:
At a specific time of day, The Reminder calls the first number and waits to hear a voice. It then plays the message "This is The Reminder System calling. It's time to take your medication. If you understand this message, please press '1' on your touch tone phone."
If the person receives the message, they press a '1' and the unit automatically hangs up after giving them the message "Thank you and have a nice day."
If the line is busy, an answering machine has answered, or for any other reason that it does not get a response of a '1', it hangs up and tries again 10 minutes later.
If it doesn't get a response the second time, it tries a third time another 10 minutes later.
If it doesn't get a response on the third try, it dials the second number programmed in for emergencies and plays the message "I have tried dialing the person at "(the first programmed number is spoken)" three times with no response. You may want to check on this person. If you understand this message, please press '1' on your touch tone phone."
If it still does not receive a response from this second person, an LED on the unit will begin to flash to indicate that no one was contacted.
Occasional monitoring of this indicator will let you know if someone needs to be personally contacted.
As an extra measure of support, at the same time, the client number is output from a serial port on the box. This can go to a computer's serial port for logging or as an alert, or to a serial printer for a hard copy.

What You Get:
The Reminder unit with LCD display and LED indicator. Programming is done by four simple push buttons. A serial port is added for data logging. The unit is a completely self contained electronic device measuring 7.5" by 4.1" by 1.2" that can fit almost anywhere.
We include professional looking sample brochures that can be easily duplicated with your own PC and printer. These are color brochures that only need black and white printing applied to them, so even the most simple printer can be used. The color brochures are available for an additional cost, or you may still print the brochures minus any color pictures in simple black and white. You can add your own business name, giving you a professional look. These brochures help sell your business and inform others of the importance of your service.
Also supplied are sample contracts to sign clients up with. Again, these are easily duplicated on your PC, or can even be photo copied.
All hardware is included to get you started using The Reminder right away. This includes a telephone cord for connection to a wall outlet, power cube and instructions for the programming and operation of The Reminder.
One of the many features of The Reminder is that it has a battery backup should power fail. If there is a power outage, the 9 volt battery (not included) in the unit will power The Reminder for up to 4 hours. (Battery must be replaced after this time, as it is not a rechargeable type.) This allows the unit to continue operation.
The Reminder comes with a 30 day money back guarantee. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with the operation of the unit, you can send the unit back to Telemedminder for a refund of the purchase price. (Shipping and handling not included)

How To Set Up Your Reminder:
The Reminder has three simple connections. One is a telephone jack. It's recommended that you use a separate phone line for the Reminder as you do not want to interfere with the calls it places by picking up your own phone.
The second connection is the power jack. Use only the power cube supplied with the unit. Use of any other power cube may result in damage to The Reminder.
The third connection is optional. It is a 25 pin serial output connector. Use a standard 25 pin to 9 pin adapter and cable to connect to your PC. Or, a straight 25 conductor cable can be used if you use this output for a serial printer. Be careful not to connect this to a parallel printer as this may cause damage to The Reminder.
Programming The Reminder takes only a few minutes to program. Using a "select" key, you scroll through the options. Those options are (1)Add Client, (2)Review/Remove Client, (3)Set Time and (4)Review Errors. (Errors are clients not contacted.)
Adding A Client. After selecting the Add Client option, use the "enter" key to select that option. Then using the "up", "down" and "enter" keys, enter the telephone number of the person you wish to call. In the same manner, the time of day and second emergency phone number are entered. A final "enter" saves the client data.
Reviewing Clients. After selecting the Review Clients option, use the "enter" key to select that option. Then using the "up" and "down" keys, scroll through all the entered clients. Press the "select" key to go back to the main menu.
Removing A Client. While reviewing clients, you may delete an old account by using the "enter" key. This will delete the client being viewed.
Setting The Time. After selecting the Set Time option, use the "enter" key to select that option. Then using the "up and "down" keys, set the hour, minute and date.
Reviewing Errors. After selecting the Review Errors option, use the "enter" key to select that option. Then using the "up and "down" keys, check which clients were not successfully contacted.
